Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai'i in 1961; he worked in Democratic politics in Chicago, Illinois and served as State Senator 1997-2004 and U.S. Senator 2005-2008. He was elected as President #44 in 2008 and served two terms. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.
