John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a U.S. Navy hero in World War II. He served as Congressman from Massachusetts from 1947-52, U.S. Senator from 1953‑60, and U.S. President #35 from 1961-63. He was assassinated in Dallas, Texas on 22 November 1963. His legacy includes the Peace Corps, the Navy SEALs, putting a man on the Moon, the decade-long VietNam War, and the landmark Civil Rights Act (passed by successor Lyndon B.
