Barbarians & Fascists
• Page 2 •

A barbarian thrives on raping and pillaging, on despoilment of society and the environment, with the intention of making the world more of a mess than it is already in. A barbarian is an uncivilized or uncultured person, from the Latin and Ancient Greek terms originally applied to any foreigner. In idiomatic or figurative usage, the term 'barbarian' may also be an individual who is brutal, cruel, warlike, insensitive.

“Anyone can be a barbarian; it requires a terrible effort to remain a civilized man.”
— Leonard Sidney Woolf [1880-1969]

“Barbarism is the natural state of mankind. Civilization is unnatural. It is a whim of circumstance.
And barbarism must always ultimately triumph.” (in "Beyond The Black River")
Robert E. Howard [1906-36], creator of Conan The Cimmerian

Barbarian topic at Wikipedia

Fascism is a radical, authoritarian nationalist political ideology. Neo-fascism usually includes nationalism,
anti-immigration policies, or - where relevant - nativism, anti-communism, and opposition to the parliamentary
system and to liberal democracy.

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.”
Benito Mussolini [1883-1945] (attributed)

“Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression
of opposition, as well as strong regimentation of society and of the economy.”

One America News Network (OANN) is a far right news and opinion channel owned by Herring Networks, Inc.; headquartered in San Diego, California; operates news bureaus
in New York City and Washington, DC. The channel targets a conservative and right-of-center audience and is noted for promoting falsehoods and conspiracy theories.
•• In January 2022, AT&T's distributor DirecTV notified O.A.N.N. that their contract would not renew when it expires in April 2022.
•• In March 2022, distributor Time Warner announced that they are canceling O.A.N.N., a network of wall-to-wall fearmongering, false narratives, and conspiracy theories. Or, as Trump calls them, "a wonderful network".
•• In late July 2022: Verizon stopped carrying the One America News conservative propaganda cable network on its Fios television service, the last major carrier to remove them for promoting bogus information about the 2020 election and other lies; OAN lost access to 20 million subscribers on the major streaming networks this year and will soon be available to only a few hundred thousand subscribers on smaller providers; OAN also sells its programming directly through its OAN Live and KlowdTV streaming platforms, but they generate far less revenue than major providers did.

propagandist Lauren Chen entry at Wikipedia

2024 Sept 5: A federal indictment was unsealed, charging two Russian citizens, Kostiantyn Kalashnikov & Elena Afanasyeva, of working with a Tennessee company not named in the indictment (but identified in the press as likely to be Tenet Media). The Russians work for RT, a Kremlin-controlled propaganda outlet; they are accused of laundering nearly $10 million and directing the money to [Tenet]. Chen and Donovan then allegedly used most of that money to pay for content from right-wing social-media influencers including Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, Lauren Southern & Benny Johnson - who have several million followers among them.

2024 Sept 6: Google removed Tenet Media's YouTube channel - which had hosted nearly 2,000 videos - and other channels run by Chen, citing Google's
"ongoing efforts to combat coordinated influence operations".

    The Third Way [est. 2005]
official website • entry at Wikipedia

This so-called 'think tank' delivers opinions intended to cause the Democratic Party to move to the right. For example, in an Op-Ed piece in the Wall Street Journal in December 2013, they harangued the Democrats for not advocating destruction of Social Security & Medicare, saying that the Dems are losing votes by not being centrist; however, all recent polls have only 12% wanting to reduce or eliminate Social Security – so this outfit reveals their agenda, which is to advise leftists how best to lose elections. Third Way's website lists 29 trustees: eighteen are investment bankers (62%), five are CEOs, two are lobbyists, two are activists, two are 'other'.

Starting in late 2013, the U.S. Chamber began spending more millions on a 'voter education' program, advertising in state & local & national elections, half a year
before the primaries. The ads are against reasonable Republican candidates {women have rights, immigrants have rights} and for TEA Party loonies
{destroy Obamacare & Medicare, privatize everything, 'coal is clean', cut taxes for the 1%}.
