Fascism & Barbarians Page

Fascism is a radical, authoritarian nationalist political ideology. Neo-fascism usually includes nationalism,
anti-immigration policies, or - where relevant - nativism, anti-communism, and opposition to the parliamentary
system and to liberal democracy.

the 'fasces' is a bundle of rods in combination with a war axe    Illustration of the principle of 'fasces': the bundle of rods tied together with the war axe was carried by civic magistrates in Ancient Roman times. The rods were used to mete out punishment unless the axe was needed to execute the criminal. The premise used by fascism is that the individual rods are easy to break (as are individual persons) but unified and with the threat of severe punishment from the state, the group then becomes mighty.

A barbarian thrives on raping and pillaging, on despoilment of society and the environment, with the intention of making the world more of a mess than it is already in. A barbarian is an uncivilized or uncultured person, from the Latin and Ancient Greek terms originally applied to any foreigner. In idiomatic or figurative usage, the term 'barbarian' may also be an individual who is brutal, cruel, warlike, insensitive.

The Working Minds Philosophy Barbarians & Fascists Page was built starting in 2011 after Justice John Roberts declared the country fascist in January 2010
{the 'Citizens United' Decision}; the 2016 'election' of Donald Trump siezed the third branch of the U.S government and Emperor Trump's fascist administration quickly caused escalation of books & news articles and television journalism (and TV 'journalism') on the subject, so this page was split off in February 2018,
with a ton of updating still to be done.

Quotations About Fascism

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger
of state and corporate power.” — Benito Mussolini [1883-1945]

“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point
where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership
of government by an individual, by a group.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt [1882-1945]

“Stay alert: The Republicans and the fascists lost the election in 2008, but they did not surrender.” — G.E. Nordell, in 2009

“Fascism is capitalism in decay.” — Vladimir Ilyich Lenin [1870-1924]

“Fascism is capitalism plus murder.” — Upton Sinclair [1878-1968], in "Presidential Agent" [1944 novel]

“Fascism: The conservative notion that killing people makes them work harder.” — Anonymous

“Privatization is fascism, period.” — G.E. Nordell

“Statism survives by looting; a free country survives by production.” — Ayn Rand [1905-82]

“Experience demands that man is the only animal which devours his own kind, for I can apply no milder term
to the general prey of the rich on the poor.” — Thomas Jefferson [1743-1826]

Trump [is] a fascist. Not in the sense of an all-purpose bad guy, but in the sense of somebody who sincerely believes
that the toxic combination of strong government and strong corporations should run the nation and the world.”
~~ columnist Michael Kinsley

“Fascism is itself less ideological, in so far as it openly proclaims the principle of domination that is elsewhere concealed.”
~~ Theodor Adorno [1903-69]

the 'Anti-Fa' Movement
As long as there has been fascism, there has been anti-fascism. After fascism's heyday during World War II, anti-fascist groups flared up on occasion in Europe and the United States,
then died down. Various factors (including social media) charged the 'anti-fa' groups around 2010 and they took on the K.K.K. and other racists and supported the Occupy Movements,
but anti-fa activities became more and more violent, so that they were using the same strategies and tactics as the fascists. Violent anti-fa groups actually help the fascists,
given the habit of the propaganda media to report the opposite of objective truth.

Very much pro-fascism, actually; British founders consider labour and socialism the enemy, official policy is to promote Islam and

The Big Lie screed by Dinesh D'Souza  "The Big Lie: Exposing The Nazi Roots of The American Left" [7/2017]
by propagandist Dinesh D'Souza

The 'big lie' here is this entire book of screed: Dinesh D'Souza argues that fascism is a phenomenon of the left, not the right – D'Souza simply cannot tell the truth, ever. And besides that, he conflates Nazism with Fascism, which is wrong on the face of it . . .
Only fools will buy or read this book!
